The Natalie and Irving Forman Papers consist of materials pertaining to the art collection of Natalie and Irving Forman, which was donated to the Albright-Knox Art Gallery in 2003. The papers contains miscellaneous materials on art and artists, such as articles and journal issues, exhibition announcements, collection inventories, and a VHS tape of a 2005 interview with Natalie and Irving Forman; as well as files on individual artists (mainly those in the Forman art collection), which contain exhibition announcements, artist correspondence, inventories, and invoices, artist resumes, some scrapbooks, 3 artists' books (by Marcia Hafif, James Howell, and John Meyer), and a DVD related to a Tilman exhibition. The collection also includes personal and professional correspondence, including communications about art purchases, sales and consignments, and discussions of possible donation sites for the Forman collection. Exhibition records document a 1994 Charlotte Jackson Fine Art show curated by Irving Forman, as well as events at the Albright-Knox Art Gallery, including the development and installation of 2003 and 2005 exhibitions of the Forman art collection. The collection also includes correspondence, photographs, and a commemorative box honoring the Formans' 50th wedding anniversary. Photographic materials include images of the Formans' Santa Fe home, the art collection installed in the home, and candid views of the Formans, artists, and the Forman family pets at the home; documentary shots of art in the collection; and images of the collection on exhibition at the Albright-Knox in 2003 and 2005. The collection also includes transparencies and slides of art works.

Natalie (nee Berg, b. 1926, Chicago) and Irving (b. 1921, Chicago) Forman met and married in Chicago in 1946.
